New research by streaming service Binge revealed single women are wasting 116.2 million hours and forking out $3.14 billion on dates with 'f**kboys' each year.

To quote the Urban Dictionary, such a term is reserved for someone who "pretends to be kind and sweet to get in your pants but turns out to be a douche".

In a survey conducted by Pureprofile for Binge spanning more than 1,000 Aussie women aged 18 to 45, ladies are spending the following to look their best before a date:

  • $526 million on new outfits.
  • $472 million on hair appointments.
  • $383 million on nails.
  • $302 million on hair removal.

Further, single Aussie women date will date an average of 24 such men per year, spending $2,856 annually with each encounter requiring $61 for date preparation, on top of the date itself costing $58 on average.

In a cross-promotion of its new show 'Fboy Island Australia', Binge has created the Fboy Compensation Fund - an initiative allowing Aussie women to claim back some of their Fboy related losses.

The Fboy Compensation Fund invites women from all over Australia to share their worst Fboy experiences, with prizes ranging from $50 to $1,500 in compensation for failed romantic weekends away, undeserved birthday gifts, or Uber rides to booty calls.

Aussie women can send their worst experiences via direct message to Binge’s Instagram account or by creating a duet video with host Abbie Chatfield on TikTok for a chance to receive compensation with entries closing 5 June 2023.
